Rina Sawayama brought her theatrical tour to rainy Seattle on September 28, and she did not disappoint. Opening up the show with “Hold The Girl,” Rina was welcomed by a room full of adoring fans who made their presence known through shouts and shrieks, all while singing the song’s words back to her.

The night included plenty of outfit changes and choreographed dancing, Rina proving why she is one of the most captivating artists right now. During “Dynasty,” Rina ditched her delicate white dress for baggy jeans and a tank top, marking one of a few outfit changes that night. The performance of “Dynasty” left Rina on her knees as powerful guitar notes rang through the speakers, making for a truly powerful and unforgettable moment in the night.

The staggering 17-song set list included old favorites and new hits. For Seattle, they were in for a treat as Rina debuted “Your Age” for the first time on tour, a memorable moment that left many fans fist-bumping to the catchy song’s bassline.

Another night highlight was the performance of “Kiss Me,” where Rina, clad in a simple white button-up and jeans, shared the stage with Of Empress. Together, they sang the emotional ballad while being in sync with some gentle choreography, their vocals blending together beautifully.

Rina brought the night to a close with four powerful performances of “Scream It,” “Comme des garçons (Like the Boys),” “XS” and “This Hell.” Performing for well over an hour, Rina pulled out all the stops for this tour, creating a show that is entertaining, strong and distinct from other pop acts out there.

There are still a few dates left of the tour, so get your tickets while you can and don’t miss Rina next time she stops through your city.
