The Directive

0

The Pop Punk scene is one that isn’t all that easy to stand out in, but for Michigan roamers, The Directive, that isn’t even remotely close to the case.  These guys are good, and we mean, REALLY good.  And it helps that they have their heads on straight as well.  The 5-piece isn’t worried about going out from show to show in an effort to try and be popular or to gain fame.  They have the sound that will make them stand out, which is something not too many bands can do without seeming desperate.   With the superb vocals of Tyler White and Evan Earle, combined with the rhythmical and melodic party for your ears that the rest of the band makes,  The Directive is a must listen!

How did you form?
Tyler, Evan, and Brandon have been writing music together and playing shows since high school. Through the local music scene and mutual friends they met Nick and Armando who completed the band in the summer of 2012.

Highlight of your career so far?
The release show for our EP, I Hope This Helps, was incredible. We sold out the venue, booked some of our favorite bands from around the state, and the crowd did a lot of the singing for us. There was a lot of love and positivity in the Pike Room that night.

Why should people listen to you? What makes you different?
While we mainly identify as a pop-punk band, our musical influences are extremely diverse and help us create eclectic songs that come from a very honest place. We write about the things we have been through, and people that listen to us relate to those experiences and become attached to the songs on a personal level. There is a feeling of comradery and empathy between us and our fans. They feel more like friends that are working through the same problems we are and that’s an amazing relationship to have with so many different people.
