Boston, Massachusetts based pop-punk band, Ramsey, our Highlighted Artist for the week, have a promising career ahead of them in the music industry, acquiring the potential to have their name alongside other popular bands in the genre such as Four Year Strong, Title Fight, and The Wonder Years. They possess the trademark pop-punk traits of energetic instrumentation and angst filled lyrics. All of these musical attributes are expected to be heard on band’s first EP, You’ve Got A Lot of Heart, Kid which was released yesterday, April 1st, on SwitchBitch Records.

Current Single
“A One-Way to Anywhere”

Members
Nick Allen – Lead Vox // Guitar
Chris Hampton – Bass
Alex Hickey – Drums

How did you form?
The trio constructed July of last year, when the three musicians met one night at a local music venue in their hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee  Chris Hampton (bass) and Alex Hickey (drums), who were both in separate bands at the time, were introduced to Nick Allen (vocals/guitar), who was in charge of booking shows at the venue they were performing at. The three of them immediately clicked and began playing music together, which quickly led to receiving the recognition of Michael Abiuso, owner of SwitchBitch Studios and Records. Abiuso saw extreme potential in the group, which determined their decision to relocate to Boston where the label/studio is located.

What has been the highlight of your career so far?
Ramsey considers the highlight of their career to be the time they were featured as the Top Band on the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands on March 5, 2013. They are just one of the bands in line to play the Ernie Ball Stage on Vans Warped Tour 2013. You can vote for them here.
