As It Is have released a new single called “Marilyn,” which can be streamed below. The track appears on their forthcoming self-titled album, which arrives on July 17.
On the new single, vocalist Patty Walters shares: “It’s never felt easier to be a pessimist and nihilist, so writing a song about hope and humanity felt right. It’s about a near-stranger and their goodness making a big difference early on in your life, but how hindsight can make that difference even clearer. But it’s also about how people are never really gone – not while their words, actions, and values live on the people their lives have touched. Good people are everywhere, all around us, all the time. This song is about them, and it’s for everyone whose lives are better for knowing them.”
