Having documented The Hara’s journey since 2019, it has been a genuine privilege to witness their growth firsthand. Watching the band develop as artists whilst reshaping their sound, gaining confidence, and ultimately finding their identity over the years has been a real pleasure, and one I’ve been grateful to witness.
January 23rd, The Hara’s second album “The Fallout” debuted and they had an album launch show in their hometown of Manchester at The Deaf Institute. What once leaned heavily on raw aggression has now developed into something far more layered and intentional. This was a band visibly more comfortable in their own skin, delivering a set that balanced intensity and control.

The new material had a clear shift in sound which was darker, heavier and more emotionally charged. There were many layers, textures heard throughout the new material which played a bigger role, creating an immersive atmosphere that wrapped around the room, while still leaving space for explosive guitar moments and punchy drum breakdowns. Rather than chasing volume alone, the band leaned into mood, tension of the room which added to the performance.
Live, The Hara commanded the stage with confidence, feeding off the crowd while maintaining a tight, polished delivery. Start to finish the audience was rowdy and mosh pits could be seen breaking out at any given moment, which The Deaf Institute proved the perfect intimate setting for. This wasn’t just a launch show; it was a statement of what is to come and what direction the band are heading.
The Hara made it clear they’re no longer simply refining their sound they’re redefining it and doing so with conviction. This is a band not to be slept on; the only way is up for these guys.
