American Hi-Fi have released a cover of Squeeze’s 1980 single “Another Nail In My Heart.” The cover is off of the band’s forthcoming covers EP Anywhere Else But Here, due out Aug. 7 via Rude Records. Pre-orders for the EP are available here. On their latest cover, frontman Stacy Jones shares:
“‘Another Nail in my Heart’ is a perfect example of the songcraft that makes Squeeze so beloved. How many other pop tunes go to a ripping guitar solo right after the first chorus?!?! As with the covers we’ve recently released, this is one of those tunes that I’ve sung in the shower ad nauseam, and now I hope people will crank up our version and do the same!”
American Hi-Fi’s recent cover of Joe Jackson’s “Steppin’ Out” is also included on their forthcoming EP.
