Blacktop Queen, consisting of drummer Nate Lotz – also known for his time playing drums for Halsey & Ryan Adams – vocalist Evan Ambrose, the band are reminiscent of U2 with their new track “Desert.” An earworm with lots of indie prowess and that gritty, grungy alternative vocal layering you’d would find in a Portugal The Man song and it’s super modern with the guitar breaks. “We basically recorded an entire EP, and made a trip to Joshua Tree with hopes of finishing it,” says drummer Nate Lotz. “It was during that trip that we realized we hadn’t made the music that was a true representation of us. We scrapped the entire EP and wrote a song about losing your soul. Blacktop Queen found its soul in the ‘DESERT.'”
