How did you get your start in music?
I got my start in music after singing at concert in elementary school with the rest of my class. My teacher told me that I was singing too loud and that my voice was overpowering the others. At the time I was really hurt and upset, but it was this instance that made my parents realize that I could sing, and what prompted them to enroll me in musical theater and voice lessons. I have been singing ever since.

What is the highlight of your career so far?
This past winter I played a show at the Gramercy Theatre in NY called “Rock The Schools 2013,” which helped to support VH1 Save the Music. I played alongside some other great musicians in an amazing venue and it was one of my best shows yet! What made it even more special was that it was for good cause and helped to raise money for music education in schools, which is very important to me.

Why should people listen to you? What makes you different?
My songs are relatable and evoke some sort of emotion. And people say that my melodies are sweet and infectious. I’m not trying to be like or unlike anyone else, I just stay true to myself as an artist, singer and person.
