Manchester, England’s Rixton are making an impact at home and abroad. Forming in 2012, the band has been touring and recording in both the United States and the United Kingdom. The four-piece Pop/R&B group released their first EP, Me and My Broken Heart, in early 2014. Band member George recently opened up to us about the process and meaning behind the album-titled track, “Me and My Broken Heart.” The band is currently on a summer tour with T. Mills. Backstory:
“Me and My Broken Heart” was recorded in New York, and was the last song recorded for the album. Whilst Jake recorded vocals, The rest of us battled to the death on Mario Kart. Danny prevailed.
We had alot of fun recording this universal sounding song, and once finished, we knew we had to lead with this as our international debut single. The song is often summed up in the wise words of the Mr Lewi Morgan, who describes it as: “a longing for love, and an anthem for broken hearts.”
