Review by Bruna Cucolo

With her brand new album release, ‘SUCKERPUNCH,’ singer-songwriter Chloe Moriondo has set off on their SUCKERPUNCH Tour with special guest Dreamer Isioma. On Oct. 23, the two performers gave it their all in Portland, OR at the Aladdin Theater. Singing almost all songs off her latest release, Moriondo put on an entertaining and very sweet show for her fans. Their personality shined through not only with the songs, but also in between while interacting with everyone.

Opening the show was Dreamer Isioma. This performance was one to get the crowd going and getting them hyped for the night’s headliner. The musician had tremendous energy and they engaged with the audience so well, welcoming everyone to the show. With a 45-minute set, there was plenty of time for them to share his music with all in attendance while leaving those in the room more ready than ever for Moriondo. It was the consistent energy throughout their set that made it so easy to have fun.

With over an hour of performance, it was without a doubt that fans had the best time. Before the headliner, fans were chanting “Chloe, Chloe, Chloe,” so excited to see her perform on stage. From the moment Moriondo stepped onto the stage and began her set with her newest album’s opening track, “Popstar,” it was nothing but mutual love in the room. From their fans she received flowers, which was so sweet, and she showed her appreciation toward everyone throughout the night.

The first few songs on the setlist were from ‘SUCKERPUNCH,” then a couple tracks from their 2021 release ‘Blood Bunny,’ then it was back to her latest record. With even less than a month of the new album being out, fans already knew the lyrics to all the songs. Moriondo shared how grateful she was for all being there and knowing the songs. And not only did she perform them so well with so much enthusiasm and passion for their work, but she interacted with fans in the sweetest ways.

With an encore that included a crowd favorite from a previous record, the entire set that night was marvelous. Although the tour’s name may sound intimidating, the performer was by far from that. The amount of kindness toward one another, not only among the fans but also the headliner, was felt by everyone. The SUCKERPUNCH Tour, which began shortly after Moriondo’s latest release, goes through mid-November in the U.S. and part of Canada, and you can buy tickets here. Unless you want to stay at home and not experience a show that will fill you with so much joy, attending a Chloe Moriondo concert is highly advised.
