LA-based alternative rock band, Wallows, took over New York City’s Terminal 5 this week for four back-to-back shows at the iconic venue – three of which were sold out. The trio is quite possibly one of the hottest groups in indie rock right now, rising to fame after the 2019 release of their critically acclaimed debut album Nothing Happens. Wallows, led by idolized Dylan Minette (Clay Jensen in Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why), recently released their sophomore album Tell Me That It’s Over and have embarked on a global tour in support of the hit record.

The award-nominated rock band brought along spill tab to support them on the Tell Me That It’s Over tour. spill tab, the moniker of Claire Chicha, is a French Korean American singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who brought the energy to her opening performance at Terminal 5 on Thursday night. She played a lengthy 40-minute setlist that include the French favorite “Calvaire” as well as a slowed-down take of Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone”, before closing her set with hit single “PISTOLWHIP”.

Shortly after 9 pm, the lights went dark and screams erupted among the 3,000 fans within the walls of the venue. Wallows took to the stage amidst earth-shattering screams and chants in support of them and immediately opened with the high-energy favorite “Hard to Believe”, featuring Minette ripping some harmonica solos on the microphone. Throughout the entire night, the energy never faded, as the Gen-Z blood pumped through the venue. Wallows played a whopping 21-song setlist before calling it a night.

With four back-to-back shows at Terminal 5, Wallows certainly proved themselves as the kings of New York. We certainly can’t wait for them to return for an even bigger and better show that will surely be the most amazing party!
