This Friday, May 13, Brooklyn-based singer and songwriter Hoodie Allen releases new music. His newest single, “Wouldn’t That Be Nice,” is also the first single for his new work, accompanied by a music video.

“Wouldn’t That Be Nice” is a unique track — it is within the alternative spectrum but also with multiple different parts to it. While listening to this tune, one may definitely hear its pop-rock style and influences, but especially with the heartbreaking lyrics, a hint of emo is portrayed, too, along with some indie vibes. From its solemn entrance to the transition toward the more pop chorus, all the styles work well together in Allen’s song. This single is the beginning of a larger storytelling piece of work, and it is the perfect introduction to what Hoodie Allen has yet to release.
