The Beaches played to a sold out crowd at their biggest headlining show to date on Saturday night in Guelph, Ontario for their The Professional Tour. The second half of their 16 date cross-Canada tour was supported by fellow Toronto-based bands, Fade Awaays and Goodbye Honolulu.

Fade Awaays

The entire tour proved to be full of talented vocalists as almost every member of each band took a turn on the mic to sing lead vocals during their sets. Guitarist/keyboardist Leandra Earl of The Beaches, clad in a white cowboy hat and jumpsuit, sang “Kinkade,” a live performance exclusive which has never been recorded in a studio. Guitarist Kylie Miller of The Beaches sang a hypnotic cover of Kylie Minogue’s “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head.”

Goodbye Honolulu

Onstage, The Beaches didn’t take themselves too seriously, throwing out silly dance moves and making fun of each other’s sweaty B.O., and even re-enacting NSFW pornographic scenes. While thanking supporting bands Fade Awaays and Goodbye Honolulu for joining them on their tour, lead vocalist/bassist Jordan Miller jokingly told the crowd, “They’re all our high school boyfriends. We dated all of them, two at a time.”

The Beaches

During their set, The Beaches played several new songs including “Snake Tongue,” “Desdemona,” and “Want What You Got” as well as favourites “Money,” and “T-Shirt,” often playing extended intros or outros that really showed off their mastery of their instruments, especially on “Boy Wonder,” which highlighted Kylie Miller’s guitar playing. Jordan Miller’s effortless vocal style enthralled the audience on tracks like “Highway 6” and set closer, “You Don’t Owe Me Anything.”
