The previously country singer who is now in the pop music scene, Taylor Swift, has come out with her seventh studio album Lover. Fans have been enthusiastically counting down the days until the release of the 18 track album. With four singles from it, it was expected that Swift would deliver something overall very lively with upbeat tempos whether the song is more serious or more laidback lyric wise. Slightly over an hour long, Lover gives listeners hope in finding true love. This piece of work is fun, entertaining, honest, and romantic.

The first track is titled “I Forgot That You Existed” and it is a fantastic way to begin the album. It is a fun song that gets the party of this album started. Living with negative vibes from someone can be overwhelming, and leaving it behind can be difficult. But Swift shows that leaving it creates peace without that negative energy.

Album titled track “Lover” is the third track on the album and also one of the recent singles released. This might be Swift’s most romantic song yet. A song that tells a story of wanting to be with someone and how it would feel doing so. With a hint of humor, Swift sings, “And you’ll save all your dirtiest jokes for me.” This song is a softer tune, but it fits well with the other songs. The lyrics are so sweet that it might just make the listener shed a few tears while listening. One could also say that it would make the perfect song for the first dance at their wedding.

“London Boy” begins with actor Idris Elba speaking with his infamously thick British accent, fitting in great with the themes found on this eleventh track. Swift expresses interest in a guy from London, hence the title. It is a very cute song that makes you feel good on the inside. “Soon You’ll Get Better” features the Dixie Chicks and it’s one where tissues may come in handy. A song about a loved one living with an illness, it sends a message of hope of them getting better. This is a sweet one but also emotional, so be prepared for some tears.

One of the bigger singles off this album is “ME!” featuring Brendon Urie from Panic! At The Disco. Swift released this song with a music video before any other single from Lover, showing off the album’s theme sound wise, happy and exciting. With Urie’s feature, it was a positive collision between pop and alternative music – it worked very well together. “ME!” will make the listener feel powerful especially with lyrics, “I’m the only one of me, baby, that’s the fun of me.” This shows that you are very unique and no one else is like you, you are special. Listeners will want to get up and dance around to this song, singing at the top of their lungs with positive energy.

The album ends on a lighter note with “Daylight.” It is a nice way to get relaxed and regain all the energy the listener used to dance along to the album. This is a good thing because there is no doubt that the listener will want to listen to Lover again, or at least their favorite song(s) from it. “It’s brighter now,” are lyrics from this song that makes the listener feel at ease with things.

Lover is one of those albums that allows not only Swift, but also her listeners to express their feelings of love, frustration, and hope. It will make listeners want to get off their feet with friends and have a singalong/dance party. Swift is always so personal and real in her music and this album definitely meets fans expectations once again. After listening to this, you will not be calming down so quickly, you will just want to listen again. Blast Lover at high volume and feel with Taylor Swift once again with this beautiful piece of work.
