PRETTYMUCH

Revention Music Center // Houston, TX // July 13th, 2019

Photos and review by Brittaney Penney

On Saturday, July 13th, 2019, PRETTYMUCH took the stage at Revention Music Center in Houston, TX. On the FOMO tour, the first couple of minutes were used to get the crowd hyped. They had a spotlight that created silhouettes of each member of the band onto the curtain. When this happened, you could feel the energy from the crowd building and once the curtain dropped, that was when the screams and excitement really began.

PRETTYMUCH opened with their song “Lying.” This song is one that they released earlier this year that features Lil Tjay. Songs in their setlist that I recommend everyone pay attention to are “10,000 Hours,” “Real Friends,” and “Phases.” Those were the ones that seemed to create the most energy in the crowd. Right before they began their song “Teacher,” one of the band members took the time to shoutout to his mom in the crowd and wish her a happy birthday. Each song had them pacing around stage, running up and down on the risers and platforms, all with them performing a choreographed dance number. There were even times they created a dance circle where each member could freestyle to the beat.

After performing their hit, “Phases,” the band left the stage and left the crowd wanting more. This began the chant of “MUCH, MUCH, MUCH” and “ONE MORE SONG!” To the fans glee, the band came out for their encore performance of “Open Arms.”

As a newer fan of PRETTYMUCH, I highly recommend making it to one of their shows. The entire performance was high energy and the interaction between the crowd and the band was something I haven’t seen in quite a while. I enjoyed the choreographed dance numbers and the fact that their stage was really interesting with the metal risers and platforms. The choreographer and set designer for this tour did an amazing job of creating an interesting stage set up, where the crowd was enraptured and focused on where each of the band members were on the various platforms and stairs.
