This week we’re aiming for the theme of summery tracks you could set out a picnic to with a bit of an edge. Hand picked by our head editors, these tracks are truly the best of the week, tell us what song you like the most. Full of harmonized melodies and smooth vocals coupled with indie pop synth sensibility, this playlist is gunning for one of our favorites.

No Kind of Rider – “Dark Ice”

This track holds such beachy vibes set to jazz guitar not unlike The Black Keys mixed in with eclectic synth. The vocals are silvery while contemporary in nature. A true earworm, this track belongs in the mainstream.

Owen Gallagher – “Come Out”

This is a building track where the smooth yet gutteral vocal range echos throughout the song. Tight melodies in the chorus build the track up with different variations in texture. With influences from The National, Bon Iver and Arcade Fire, UK born Owen Gallagher is set for great things.

Pop centric with indie and dance electro prowess, this track echos beach club and dream pop with a twist. A definite earworm, this track holds cooing, layered vocals that are catchy and breezy.

A well produced track in the perspective of a woman, this track holds 60’s vibes while keeping the rock true to it’s roots. Full of melodies and building guitars, the message behind the track speaks volumes.

Sun June – “Discotheque”

If the beautifully vulnerable vocals aren’t enough to make you fall in love with this song, the dreamy music video for “Discotheque” will send you into deep nostalgia of summers that have long since passed.

NYIKO – “One U Luv”

Mixing together moody post-punk and bedroom synth-pop elements, fans of The 1975 and Twin Shadow will enjoy this new wave track from NYIKO.
