Patton Oswalt Gets Patriotic, Weezer Get Political in “I Love The USA”

0

“I’m just trying to make America great!” a star-spangled Patton Oswalt shouts as he’s tackled to the ground by Secret Service, his patriotic parade around the Oval Office culminating in the detonatation of a bomb. Inspired by NASA’s Juno Mission to Jupiter, the bonus track included on the deluxe version of Weezer’s “The White Album,” released Friday, is humorous when it’s being lip-synced by an all-American-attired Oswalt, his look complete with a USA fanny pack around his waist. However, the light-hearted parody of American pride takes a turn for the political when Secret Service members – Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo makes a cameo – must step in when Oswalt’s character’s over-the-top devotion to the country renders him blind.

Released just before the second presidential candidate debate last night, the video presents Weezer’s stance loud and clear.
