How did you form?
Northernmost was founded out of the ashes of several local RI and MA bands- The Refraction and Pathfinder. Tyler Bragger (Drums) and Jesse Field (Guitar/Vocals) came together in the winter of 2013/14 simply to “Write music we like, regardless of genre.”

“We had no plans at the time for the music to become an album or anything more than what it was. We were both so tired and frustrated with the band situation that we wanted something no expectations, just free expression,” says guitarist/vocalist Jesse Field about their strange origins. “Eventually, after several songs came together I thought ‘hey, maybe I’ll try singing on some of these,’ and it just clicked. I wasn’t close to where I wanted to be, but the emotion was right and I felt I had a lot to say after recently getting out of a tough relationship, dealing with numerous family pressures, etc. It was perfect timing.”

What has been the Highlight of Your Career?
I’d have to say the highlight of our career is the friends we’ve made in this band. The band & our manager Briana are becoming like a second family. The relationships created as a result of this band are worthy of being not just a highlight of our career, but a highlight of our lives.

Why should people listen to you? What makes you different?
People should listen to us because we, as cliche as it sounds, pour our hearts into our music. Anyone going through a rough time in life will be able to relate our music. I feel we are a different band because we really do put ourselves out there. We go home at night after a show knowing that people in the crowd could see how we’ve hurt. But we know that we all hurt in some way shape or form, and we hope that we can serve as a stepping stone between sadness and the path to contentment. I feel we are different because our lyrics are stream of consciousness straight from the heart falling out of our mouths.
