Formerly of A Rocket To The Moon, Singer-songwriter Nick Santino is original and genuine. He took some time with us to go behind the scenes with his track “How Tp Live With A Ghost,” and share what it means to him.

A song meaning is always however the listener wants to interpret it, but the way I see it is that this song has a couple of different meanings. One being the literal meaning of living with a ghost in your house. The meaning I was really going for in this song is a bit deeper than that though. Everyone has that person or situation that they’ve gone through in the past and can’t move on from.  It’s a song about coming to terms with that person or event and living with it. It will always be there to haunt you but the more time that passes you realize the easier it gets to live with it.

Lyrics

here’s a ghost in this house and she watches me sleep she leaves doors on unlocked and she’s light on her feet there’s a ghost in this house and rattles my bones
she’s haunting my heart and shaking my soul

but someday she’ll be gone and i wont feel her breathe every knock on the wall every motionless creek

oh someday she’ll be gone
and maybe i’ll rest
all alone in my bed till i miss her to death

there’s a ghost in this house and she’s scared of the light she sleeps through the day and sings through the night there’s a ghost in this house and wont let me breathe she sleeps in my bed and refuses to leave

no you can’t go away
no you can’t go away now

there’s a ghost in this house
she’s the creek in the floor
she’s the breath on my neck that i’ve grown to ignore.

there’s a ghost in this house and she talks in her sleep
