Behind The Song: Fire in the Hamptons – “Chosen Ones”

Los Angeles’ Fire In The Hamptons are blazing a path for their music. The band recently dropped their new EP, Chosen Ones, and has been out on tour in support. Recently, the band went behind the scenes of their EP titled track, “Chosen Ones.” The band also released a lyric video for the track which you can check out below.

“Chosen Ones is about getting nuts, being creative & falling in love. The Chosen Ones think big & live in the moment- they strive for a purpose & a voice. They use the power that they attain from their journey to inspire the world around them.”

“The opening synth line is what sparked the song. Sometime around 4am in my studio I was playing with sounds & just puked out the line. The lyrics, “no one can break my heart” came out shortly after, while freestyling the melody in my head.  I come from a hip-hop background & spent many years firing off lyrics from the top of the attic; which is like catching lightning in a bottle- you have to be willing to fail completely & not let it phase you. I don’t know where the lyrics come from a lot of the time & I like it that way.”

“It’s far more difficult for me to make uplifting fun songs than it is to go dark & dramatic.  I love dark & dramatic, I feel that way most of the time- but songs like this get me out of that place & energize my soul. I also love thinking it can do the same for other people, because most people don’t have the outlet or haven’t found it yet. I want to think that this kind of song will spark something within them.”
