Behind The Song:
I wrote this song from personal experience. It’s something I’m going through and trying to change. My inspiration generally comes from real life issues. I got together with talented producer Neff-U and brought it to life in the studio. It started with a dope piano melody and Neff-U built out the track with the grittiness and musicality it needed. My lyrics and melodies came naturally from that.
The song deals with the twisted dynamic of a relationship, where both our insecurities cause us to intentionally hurt each other. Like the lyric says, “It makes sick that hurting my significant other makes me feel better.” We both say and do things we’re not proud of in a relationship and things sometimes get out of control when love is involved.
