How did you form?
[Jayk] Dana and I’s old bands used to play together all the time, so when things didn’t work out with those we decided to work together to find a group of musicians with the same drive as us. We found Dan on Craigslist and Mike through a promoter friend of ours. Some days we wonder if Dan is actually the Craigslist killer, usually when he first wakes up after a long night spent sleeping in the van… We actually met Mike just a couple weeks before going into the studio to record our Promises EP, it’s funny how fast things happen.
What has been the highlight of your career?
I think we would all agree that being in the studio with ZK Productions to record our new single “Cloud 9” was the highlight of our career so far. As if being in a big studio and working with multiple platinum producers wasn’t enough, Zack and Kenneth were some of the best dudes you’ll ever meet and it was an all around great experience.
Why should people listen to you? What makes you different?
We try to write the catchiest, realest songs possible without sticking to a certain formula, especially with the new music we’ve been writing. Our music style is very diverse and is specifically for people who enjoy a range of different genres of music. All too often a band will put out a record where every song sounds very similar, so when they put out a second record and all the songs sound different than the first one everyone complains saying the band “sold out” or “wasn’t true to their roots”. We aim to be that band that never has that issue, because from the start we write what we like and what we know our fans will enjoy, it doesn’t always have to sound exactly the same.

I LOVE these guys and their amazing music! Their songs get me through any/all situations. Even just hearing Dana’s voice puts me in a better mood. Can’t get enough of Stay 17!!!!!
Stay seventeen is so amazing, the guys are super sweet and are so caring for their fans its amazing. I love going to their sows because they always interact with their fans and they can sometimes remember names and faces. The guys can make you laugh at any moment and their songs are relatable and can make you dance. They’re amazing.

okay so they are amazing and really dedicated to their fans. I have all 4 as a friend on facebook and have had conversations with each of them. I also have Dan and Mike following me back on twitter! I listen to them like all the time and no matter what mood I am in they always find ways to cheer me up because of their music! I’m going to see them March 2nd and I can not wait!! the anticipation is like off the wall. Dan told me a few weeks ago if I’m able to go that I will be able to hang out with them at the concert! this will seriously be like the best day of my life!! I LOVE them so much!
