Jimmy Nash was practically born and raised in recording studios in Nashville, Tennessee. Because of his exposure to music at a young age, it was inevitable that he would end up living life of music himself. When Nash’s acoustic style and distinct voice fill a room, you won’t be able to help the overpowering feeling to move, or at the very least grin as wide as you are able. He hits the road this week for his California tour which you can check out the dates here, and find out more about Jimmy Nash and his music below!

How did you begin writing/creating music?
My parents were singer/songwriters, and growing up, it didn’t take me too long to know that was something I wanted to do.  I started fiddling with some melodies at first in my teens, and would present lyrical ideas to my parents, and they would give me a pretty honest…if not overly honest critique. By the time I got into my twenty’s, I felt like I could really hold my own as a songwriter.

What has been the highlight of your career so far?
My song, “More Than Crazy,” was placed on “Jane by Design” on ABC Family.  It was my first TV placement and I really just felt more established after that. Like I wasn’t just an independent artist putting out my first album, but now millions of people just heard my song in a romantic montage!

Why should people listen to you? What makes you different?
I leave nothing behind when writing a song.  I can’t sleep until I’ve wrestled every thought to the ground. I always like to include something deeper or clever for those who really pay attention to every word as I do.  Mostly though, I just want to create something that makes people feel good.  After all, that’s usually why people listen to music. Even listening to a sad song can sometimes make you feel better afterwards.
