How did you get your start in music?
I started singing and writing songs at a young age while growing up in the church. I sang in the chorus throughout most of high school. I left college to work and pursue music.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
The highlight of my career so far has to be the photoshoot/interview I did for Complex Magazine. I grew up reading that, buying the mag monthly from the news stand (no subscription). It was so surreal to pick it up that month and see myself sprawled across 2 pages.
Why should people listen to you? What makes you different?
I try to be as honest and vulnerable as possible when writing. That’s what sets me apart. It’s my story, my experiences presented as a body of work. People should listen to me for a fresh perspective on things because we are alive in some way or another.
