Five Albums To Edit Photos To
Words and Picks by Sam Polonsky

I’m a creative person, so I always try to surround myself with other creative people and positivity. In addition to creative people, I also like to listen to artists that I think have a unique sound and are putting out a positive message. My favorite time to listen to these artists is while I’m working on my craft, which is photography. I specifically listen to these albums while I’m editing to help get my creative juices flowing and to keep me pumped and motivated. I’ve been doing a lot of shoots lately and these following albums have been my go to’s for the editing process.

Bleachers – Strange Desire
You may have heard the single from this album, “Get Better,” on your favorite radio station, and if you haven’t, you will soon. I love this album because not only is it great to jam to while working, but it also shows that hard work pays off. Ever since the release of this album a lot of doors have been opening for Bleachers and they’ve begun their musical take over.

Fall Out Boy – Take This To Your Grave
This was Fall Out Boy’s first album and their debut to the music scene. I like to listen to it because one, they’re on of my favorite bands, and two, it shows that everyone starts somewhere and changes over time. It reminds me that it’s okay to let my editing style change while also allowing me to sing along really loudly and obnoxiously.

Kingsfoil – A Beating Heart Is A Bleeding Heart
I listen to this album while I edit because it’s a perfect mix of upbeat catchy songs as well as mellow tunes. Kingsfoil is a band from Lancaster, PA that has been on the road more often than not this past year. They’re definitely a band that’s easy to get into.

Young The Giant – Mind Over Matter
I chose this album because it’s just one that I love to jam to. Not only is this band amazingly talented but they also have the albums and live shows to prove it. This is a great album to put on for when you need to zone the rest of the world out and really focus on what you’re doing. I also recommend their first album which is self titled.

LP – Forever For Now
LP is an artist that I really believe is going to blow up within the next year. She recently signed to Warner Brothers Records and this was her first release on the label. It’s another album that’s just so easy to find yourself singing along to and is upbeat enough to keep your work flow going.
