Fall Out Boy – The Save Rock and Roll Tour
May 14th, 2013 // The Rave (Eagle’s Ballroom) // Milwaukee, WI
Photos and words by Ashley Osborn

Fans arrived as early as the night before to welcome Fall Out Boy back to Milwaukee. Last night was a gathering of the masses. “I skipped finals for this,” said one die-hard fan in the line, “I wouldn’t have missed this day for the entire world. It’s been literally six years since I’ve seen them.” That simple quote can summarize what I can only assume each and every single one of the attendees felt.

I had no idea what to expect from the band when they stepped onstage. I was blown away to say the least. I had seen them before this and this time around… it was different. They seemed more collective. Collective… it’s a strange word to describe a performance, right? Wrong. Patrick Stump (vocals, guitar), Pete Wentz (bass), Andy Hurley (drums) and Joe Trohman (guitar) all seemed more comfortable than ever when they jumped head first into “Thriller.” A powerful united front. This expanded and the entire atmosphere of the room was something unlike I’ve ever experienced at a show. I think it felt… renewing for everyone in the room. A weight lifted off the shoulder’s of their fans.  A continuation of their past and a new start all at once. It was like Fall Out Boy had never been gone and their audience ate it all up.

Their entire setlist was a flawless mix of old a new. From their recent single, “Young Volcanoes,” to even the best of the best hits off of their 2003 full-length, Take This To Your Grave. But does it really surprise you? The band has always done a great job of mixing up their sets! Not to mention an incredible encore set as well. Guys… you really just are in for a treat. I can’t ruin this for you!

I don’t think much needs to be said about Fall Out Boy because the legacy they have left over the last ten (and then some) years says it all. This tour is simply going to be a welcome back party from the band’s very appreciative fans and we’re simply ecstatic that we were able to cover the first night for you. Ladies and gents… you’re going to have one HELL of a night. If you have a ticket to this completely sold out tour you are one lucky son of a gun. Enjoy these photos and please share yours with us as well!
