On Wednesday, October 2nd, Greta Van Fleet brought their March of the Peaceful Army tour to the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.
Fans excitedly arrived hours before the show began with the line stretching across to the next street over. Fans of all ages were present, conveying that the band’s music is timeless. When the group first came out on stage lead singer, Josh Kiszka threw out flowers to the crowd. Their set began with “When The Curtain Falls,” the first single from their first studio album Anthem of the Peaceful Army, which was released last October.
The band has high stage energy and they were feeling and playing off of the crowd’s energy the entire night. Especially impressive was singer Josh who was virtually screaming the lyrics but still providing flawless vocals the whole evening. During “Flower Power,” Samuel Kiszka smoothly transitioned from playing the bass to the keyboard where he stayed for the next five songs.
Greta Van Fleet slowed things down a little with their performance of “You’re the One.” Guitarist Jake Kiszka switched over to the acoustic guitar for this song. The Bill Graham Auditorium is enormous, but even from the very back of the second level, the music was super loud. A few people were probably temporarily deaf after the show.
Like all great things, unfortunately, the night had to come to an end. For the last song, they performed “Lover Leaver (Taker, Believer),” which is the third single from their latest album. Greta Van Fleet is a talented group with a fantastic stage presence. If you ever get the chance to see them live, I would highly encourage you to do so.
