Indie-electronic artist Lindsey French, who goes by the monicker Negative Gemini, sang and danced her way through last Friday night at The Lodge Room in Los Angeles. Negative Gemini started in 2011 and is a solo project of Lindsey’s which started in Richmond, Virginia, but then later relocated to New York City.
For this show, Lindsey experimented by jamming out with other musicians on stage. It was a delightful and cerebral experience with the plethora of lasers on stage to light up the well balanced set. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of visuals presented. Everyone in the audience was moving with smiles on their faces.
I felt like I slipped into a futuristic 80’s disco world. The aesthetic really added to the overall stage presence that Negative Gemini brought upon us. A little bit of pop and techno go along way. Lindsey’s voice is as wakeful as it is calming, and I was loving every bit of it. It was a special night for Negative Gemini.
Negative Gemini is in the middle of writing her next album and is currently on a West Coast tour. She will be starting her Midwest tour with TV Girl on June 6th in Cleveland.
