PREMIERE: Jadewick show softness on “My Love, My Love”

A band of brothers, friends and more importantly, a family make up the band Jadewick. Their EP My Love, My Love “explores the complexities of losing someone you love”. The band take acoustic elements and weave them into their delicate sound with ease, all while sending the message of love and remembrance. Keeping transitions light and ambient, Jadewick show their roots in influences like Grayscale, Adaje and Pillowtalk.

While somber, highly instrumental and emotional in nature, the track “Hush” deals with lead singer Zohayr Shirazee coping with the loss of his grandmother. Check out a statement from Shirazee below as well as their track “Hush”.

The first single entitled ‘Hush’ is a song about attempting to understand a dying loved one’s faith when you have none,” Shirazee said. “As someone who doesn’t practice any religion, I had a strong admiration for my grandmother as she passed. She was a strong believer in Islam, and didn’t truly feel at peace with dying until her Imam blessed her and gave her the comfort and strength to move on. That was just such a powerful thing to me. As someone who derives his faith from people and all things tangible and practical, it was a huge source of conflict for me, which in turn led to ‘Hush’.”
