What is better than a music festival in New York City? Not much, but we like to think that a music festival in New York City that supports a good cause would be one of them. The Global Festival will take place on September 29 in New York Cities very own Central Park. The festival is a supporting effort to try and stop global poverty, and founders of the festival are trying their best, first by compiling a jaw dropping lineup which includes: The Black Keys, Ka’naan, Foo Fighters, Band Of Horses, and many more.
The system for acquiring tickets to this event is strictly lottery. The Global Poverty Project has made an app that allows its users to enter the lottery. The app also allows its users to become more acquainted with world issues and are also able to make donations to charities. Hugh Evans, cofounder of the Global Poverty Project states in an interview to Rolling Stone;
We wanted Global Festival to be about action, not money. By thinking different about how we distribute tickets, we’re building a movement.
