Dreamwake are back with a new single called “Oasis,” which can be streamed below. The track appears on their forthcoming album, The Lost Years, which arrives on August 8 via UNFD. Speaking on “Oasis,” they have shared:
“‘Oasis’ explores themes of emotional isolation, internal conflict, and the weight of unhealed trauma. It’s told from the perspective of someone haunted by both personal pain and inherited wounds. They feel lost, yet endlessly chase a glimmer of peace they call their ‘Oasis’. There’s a longing for escape, a flicker of hope, but it’s tangled in despair and resignation, capturing a desperate attempt to hold on to meaning and identity while drowning in emotional darkness.”
On the single’s music video, Dreamwake have said:
“We aimed to tell the story of someone who has spent their life running from the past, while still clinging to pieces of it. Throughout, you see this person gripping an old childhood photo, glancing at it nervously, clutching it like a lifeline as they speed through the night-fleeing their ghosts and chasing something that feels like salvation. In the end, they burn the photo in a symbolic act of letting go. But when they awaken, the photo is still in their hand, suggesting that this cycle of pain and pursuit is unending, a loop that refuses to break.”
