Maude Latour with MARIS

Aladdin Theater // Portland, OR // March 8, 2025

Review by Bruna Cucolo

It’s a girly pop rave! The Sugar Water Tour ’25 is on the road with headliner Maude Latour touring across the country. This is an opportunity you don’t want to miss if this kind of music is your jam, or if you just want to have one of the most incredible nights. After her last record release of ‘Sugar Water,’ the pop singer is bringing the album to life to 18 cities. Joining her is MARIS, another artist that is a must-see.

Can’t think of a better opener than MARIS, honestly. A bubbly, queer pop gal was the ideal musician for this specific role on the tour. With 30 minutes of fun, catchy beats, the crowd absolutely loved her. Not only did she leave a musical statement, but she also made everyone in the room feel important and loved — she had everyone in the room hug and say to themselves, “I love you just the way you fucking are, bitch!” It was a magical moment. A new artist to add to your fun, pop playlist, perhaps?

Latour’s set began with her latest album’s opening track, “Officially Mine.” As an energetic song on its own, if the venue wasn’t already alive from MARIS’ set then there was no doubt the audience was excited now. It brought the room to life even more! And the energy never died down. If anything, it only went up and up as the next hour and some went by.

It was poppy, it was lively, it was a fantastic night. The fans’ reactions were priceless, so many smiles and happy voices singing along to Latour’s songs. The singer was energetic, and she engaged with the audience, which made everyone feel seen, she wasn’t just there simply performing for a crowd. Not every artist can do that and make it look so natural.

The set consisted of new songs from her newest record such as “Too Slow” and “Infinite Roses” to throwback tunes like “One More Weekend” to an unreleased song. The perfect mix for new and OG fans so that everyone could enjoy it all. If you’ve never listened to her music before, though, you’re still sure to have a great time.

Don’t miss Maude Latour on her sweet tour this spring! It’s the best way to begin the season. Get your best gal pals and go out and have the time of your life with live music that will get you feeling all giddy. Tickets are available here. Catch Latour and rave with her!
