Conan Gray with Maisie Peters

Theater of the Clouds // Portland, OR // October 13, 2024

Review by Bruna Cucolo

Talk about a night with no dull moment, but rather a completely ravishing and marvelous show put on by a sensational performer. Truly a star, the Texan singer-songwriter Conan Gray shined bright the entire night.

The Found Heaven On Tour, headlined by Gray, is currently on its way to 18 cities in North America. Joining him throughout this journey is Maisie Peters, a British singer-songwriter whom Gray has been friends with since their YouTube days years ago. Over halfway through this tour, the two artists made a stop in Portland, Oregon, on October 13, where they performed at Theater of the Clouds.

Showcasing her bubbly personality, Peters started the night with her 11-song set with songs from her latest album release, ‘The Good Witch,’ along with older songs of her as well. Throughout her time on stage she engaged with the crowd as much as possible, interacting with everyone in the room as a whole. All her songs were a success that night including “The Band And I” where she mentions Oregon and a cover song “Holding Out for a Hero” by Bonnie Tyler, which the crowd went crazy for. There couldn’t be a more perfect opener for this tour — not only is she a friend of Gray’s but she absolutely got the room hyped for the rest of the night.

Twenty-two songs including three for the encore. An hour and a half performing for a loud audience. A tremendously fun, charming yet glamorous show. Conan Gray exceeded anyone’s expectations for that night. With the flashing lights and loud music as an intro, the curtain that hid the stage setup dropped (who doesn’t love a curtain drop at the start of a concert?). And there he was, center stage, singing “Fainted Love” off his most recent release, ‘Found Heaven,’ which fans have been listening to since April, waiting for this moment to hear its songs live for the first time.

Songs from his last three albums were played such as “Lonely Dancers,” “Astronomy” and “Heather.” Even an unreleased song, said to be out soon according to the singer, “Holidays” was performed during the acoustic set. And with each song he sang, the fans sang along so loud that at times they’d sing over the singer. It was a concert filled with excitement from everyone as they all screamed out the words to their favorite lines from their favorite songs with so much passion. The shows haven’t come to a finish yet, so there is still time to attend one of the most fun tours happening right now.

Catch Conan Gray play a magical set that will keep you smiling and laughing and letting your emotions out all night, leaving you feeling so full of joy. You will have found heaven. Get tickets here and dance the night away!
