Glass Animals – made up of Dave Bayley, Joe Seaward, Ed Irwin-Singer, and Drew Macfarlane – took to The Mann’s stage in West Philadelphia on a warm summer Saturday night. The Mann, which contains a mixture of stadium and lawn seats, was packed to the brim with eager fans waiting to hear hits from their latest album, I Love You So F***ing Much.

Kevin Abstract

Kevin Abstract kicked off the show by performing hits from his albums ARIZONA BABY and American Boyfriend: A Suburban Love Story, along with songs from his time in the boy band BROCKHAMPTON, including “GUMMY”, “BUZZCUT”, “RZA”, and “STAR.”

Next, the giant curtain containing the album title (I Love You So F***ing Much) dropped and Glass Animals proceeded to take the audience into space with them on their massive, spaceship-like stage setup, starting with their new song “whatthehellishappening?”

Lasers flashed across the expansive crowd while they took us through a blend of old and new hits, including “Show Pony”, “Creatures in Heaven”, “Tokyo Drifting”, and “Gooey.” Dave Bayley, the band’s main singer, paused several times throughout the set to admire the amount of people that came out for the show – a night many Philadelphians explained was “the most crowded they’ve ever seen The Mann.” One particularly special moment was during “Lost in the Ocean”, a fan brought colorful sticky notes and organized the crowd to place it over their phone flashlights, illuminating the audience into a sea of colorful stars.

Glass Animals is a beloved band that people of all ages can enjoy. In each tour, they immerse their audience into the album through the use of unique visuals, stage setup, intentional lighting, and a high energy performance.
