On 12 April, Oslo Hackney in London became a melting pot of raw emotion and unbridled energy as Boston Manor took to the stage, igniting the sold-out venue with their electrifying performance. As the clock struck 8:30 p.m., the anticipation in the air was palpable, and as the lights dimmed, the crowd erupted into a deafening roar.
From the moment the first chord reverberated through the venue, it was evident that Boston Manor was on a mission to captivate every soul in attendance. Opening with the anthemic “Container,” the band wasted no time in setting the tone for the evening, with frontman Henry Cox’s impassioned vocals cutting through the air like a knife.
Throughout the night, Boston Manor flawlessly balanced moments of explosive energy with poignant introspection, weaving a sonic tapestry that spoke to the highs and lows of the human experience. Tracks like “Liquid” and “Ratking” showcased the band’s ability to deliver blistering riffs and thunderous rhythms, while “Sliding Doors,” their brand new track, and “England’s Dreaming” invited the audience into moments of introspection and vulnerability.
One of the most striking aspects of Boston Manor’s performance was their unwavering connection with the audience. Whether it was Cox’s heartfelt banter between songs or the communal sing-alongs that echoed through the venue, there was a sense of camaraderie that transcended the typical artist-audience dynamic.
As the set drew to a close with the haunting strains of “Halo” it was clear that Boston Manor had left an indelible mark on everyone in attendance. With a setlist combined of old favorites and new hits, the set greatly showcased how far along Boston Manor has come over the years, proving why they are one of the most talked about bands in the scene today.
