Brass hardcore band Brass Against have released their debut single “Umbra” this week. Originally starting as a Rage Against The Machine cover band, RATM’s Tom Morello calls Brass Against an “incredible brass band” and they have been growing their following over the years with tours all over Europe opening for acts like Lenny Kravitz.
“Umbra” is off of the band’s upcoming EP, Brass Against EP, that will be released next month.
“Frequent collaborator Sophia Urista is on lead vocals (for this song and the whole EP), and the song is pretty much in the same vein as the covers — heavy, ’90s-style alt-rock and alt-metal but with lots and lots of horns. It’s pretty badass, and Sophia is exactly the kind of powerhouse vocalist you need to sell this kinda thing.“
