The Sumerian Records signed band Sleeping With Sirens is ready to share new music through their sixth studio album, How It Feels To Be Lost. This is one that will make their fans reminisce their older pieces of work. The band has experimented with different sounds within the past ten years and fans who have been by their side all this time are excited about the new music and to hear what the band has been working on.

In this album, the band goes back to their heavy roots and combines it with new sounds to create a piece that fans will love. With 11 tracks, listeners will be able to rock out to the songs with some headbangers even when the lyrics get deep and personal.

It all starts with the first single released from the album, “Leave It All Behind.” As one of the heaviest songs off the album, it gets the listeners pumped for the rest of the songs. The song starts with instrumentals played by the other very talented members that are not too heavy, but then it picks up and gets louder. Vocalist Kellin Quinn has such strong vocals in this track including some very clean screams that listeners will want to scream along to. With the song being about dealing with issues such as depression and anxiety and many people struggling with that, one can imagine a future Sleeping With Sirens concert where when this song is performed, the whole crowd yells out the lyrics together in a powerful way. “Together we are not alone, you’re not alone,” are just some lyrics that can give listeners hope of moving forward and connecting with the music.

“Agree to Disagree” is track number four and also another single. Not as heavy as track one, it still has heavier tendencies. This one can make the listener feel angry when relating with the lyrics. A song about not agreeing with someone (hence the title) and not caring about what the other person thinks, it shows the frustration of them trying to be in your business. Its music video gives off vibes that causes the song to become more alive than it already is. Quinn’s performance in the video is lively and the viewer can see how passionate he is about the song. Many people will be able to relate to this one as well which makes it very special.

“I feel so alone, searching for something,” are lyrics from “PS Missing You” that sounds like a cry for help, especially when Quinn sings, “and you can’t save me.” This song starts off slower with a soft melody as Quinn sings, “I’m missing you,” but then gets more aggressive once the intro is over. Listeners might get chills when they hear his voice struggling on this track, and they may even relate as well. Instrumentals play a large role in this song with notes and rhythms reflecting the feelings of the lyrics. This song overall is so important, giving the opportunity for the band and listeners to connect even more.

The album ends on a more mellow, yet powerful note with “Dying To Believe.” It is an unexpected ending that listeners will still appreciate. How It Feels To Be Lost is an album that Sleeping With Sirens worked extremely hard on for their fans. It has very relatable lyrics throughout it all which makes it unique and personal to all who listen. Many emotions will be felt while listening, so be prepared. Take a listen and go on a journey that will lead to some self-reflection. Feeling lost can be tough, but with this album, you might just find yourself again.
