Deerhunter brought their electrifying tour with Dirty Projectors to The Wiltern in Koreatown, Los Angeles on July 17th.

The eclectic American indie-rock band led by Bradford Cox, started off in 2001 at Atlanta, Georgia where the frontman met drummer Moses Archuleta. Later on, guitarist Lockett Pundt, bassist Josh McKay and keyboardist/saxophonist Javier Morales were added to complete the lineup.

This 5-piece band ran through all of the favorite hits during their performance at The Wiltern including “Revival,” “He Would Have Laughed,” “Helicopter” and “Desire Lines.” Though the main focus for the night was on their newly released album, which is also the title of their tour, Why Hasn’t Everything Already Disappeared?

The setlist had smooth transitions all the way through, forcing the audience to seep into musical fabric of the melancholy harmonies that are Deerhunter. Song after song, we were taken aback by the cohesiveness of the instrumentation. The band has great chemistry on stage, they were truly professional and had rightfully earned their headline spot in one of the most beautiful venues in Los Angeles.

With a set that never has a dull moment, Deerhunter will be taking their tour across the pond to Europe, kicking everything off in France on August 14th.
