Superdestroyer is an anonymous multi-instrumentalist from Columbus, Ohio with a serious alibi and knack for grungy, gritty punk rock not far from Masked Intruder meets Diarrhea Planet. Pulling influences from “midwestern emo, twinkle, punk, and downtempo electronica, which converge in a unique sound that explores themes of isolation, depression, death, existentialism, and human relationships,” Superdestroyer has decided to premiere his music video for “Fantastic Planet.” Based in a post-apocalyptic future, “[the]title is a reference to a surrealist animated french film in which humans are enslaved on an alien planet, and freed through knowledge.” Check out the video below and a quote from Superdestroyer himself.

“It’s a layered representation of the  manifestation of our bad behaviors on a national and global scale and the anxieties that surround them, but those messages are obscured by instrumentals that distract from the heavy nature of the lyrics. It focuses on the willfully ignorant (la la la) and projects the implications of our current actions.”
