On Tuesday, May 14th Jake Miller brought his “Wait For You” Tour to the New Parish in Oakland, CA. Miller started the night off right, by performing “NIKES,” a song from his EP, Based On A True Story, released at the end of March. The New Parish provides a more intimate setting for concertgoers with a capacity of approximately 300 to 400. Although a smaller crowd, they were still as loud and spirited as a group twice their size. Throughout the night, they were singing and dancing to the music while enthusiastically yelling for Jake to take his shirt off. Miller was very energetic on stage and even threw water on the crowd multiple times.
He played many songs from his first EP, Summer Session, sharing he would not be where he is today without it. A drummer and a bass player joined Jake on stage. Miller also shared some acoustic songs with him playing either the guitar or the piano. He was very appreciative of his fans and often thanked them for being there on a Tuesday night and sharing their evening with him. There were several people with birthdays in attendance and to help celebrate, Jake shared a shot of Jameson with a woman who turned 21, after first checking her ID.
For the final song of the night, he performed “WAIT FOR YOU” another song off his Based On A True Story EP.
