UK-based pop punk band Trash Boat has covered Linkin Park’s “Given Up” for the non-profit charity compilation, Songs That Saved My Life, and for Mental Health Awareness month. Speaking to the single, Tobi said:
“I remember watching a radio interview Chester Bennington did in February 2017, just 5 months before his death. He spoke so plainly and openly about his suffering to the extent that, with the benefit of hindsight, it was obviously a desperate cry for help.” He continued, “May is mental health awareness month, and with this cover comes a reminder to be the voice that counterbalances the army of negativity in someone’s head. Make the first move, ask the difficult questions and keep the conversation going, even if it seems helpless. You CAN make a difference.”
