While on his world tour to promote his new album Love, Michael Bublé made a stop at the Oracle Arena in Oakland on April 3rd.He kicked off his set with “Feeling Good” by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley, a song he first covered back in 2005. Next, he played one of his most well-known songs “Haven’t Met You Yet” the first single from his sixth studio album, Crazy Love.
The stage for the show was quite elaborate with amazing lighting and visuals. It also included a whole orchestra which perfectly accompanied each song. Bublé shared that even though there were over 15,000 in attendance, his goal was to make the show as intimate as possible. He said he wanted the night to feel like a second Valentine’s Day for the crowd which was the perfect transition to his next song “My Funny Valentine”.
Throughout the night, Bublé enjoyed dancing and making the crowd laugh with his humorous stories. He has a lovely, soothing voice which translates into an amazing vocal performance. To end his set, he played “Cry Me a River” a cover which is featured on his album Cry Me A River.
For an encore, he performed three songs. He began with “Where or When” a cover from his newest album, Love. He finished with two songs, “Everything” and “Always On My Mind” which are both off of his fifth studio album Call Me Irresponsible, which took four years to record and was released in 2007.
Overall it was such a fantastic show, and Michael offers beautiful vocals and sounds the same live as he does on recordings. So while you have the chance, I would highly recommend seeing him, he is a genuinely charismatic, engaging performer.
