Tiny Kingdoms have come out with their new single “Cadets” about the cosmic unknown. Starting off with a mid-tempo build-up, the track holds dreamy melodies and fuzzy guitars. A warm single bound for takeoff, no pun intended. The Chicago group have been known to be passionate with their singles and lead singer, Nico Miura, said the band, “got super into synths and drum machines,” before heading into the studio to record the track. While “Cadets” was an “experiment”, Tiny Kingdoms succeeded with their mission to bring new life into their catalog. Check out the music video below.
“When approaching ‘Cadets’ lyrically, I tried a story-telling approach,” Miura said. “I wanted to sing tales about spacecrafts and explorers but also wanted it to be relatable [on an emotion based level]to both myself and whoever was listening.”
