They both rose to fame from starring in several Disney Channel Original films and Television shows. They are both worldwide superstars with a legion of fans, we’ve gown up with them – through their highs and lows. Both of these talented humans are strong, independent, fearless and wonderful women who have put stereotypes to shame and dominated the music industry with their personalities, charisma and of course, music but who is your queen?
Ok, so personally for me Demi is my queen and her recent album Tell Me You Love Me is raw, emotional, honest and very personal – it’s also another side to Demi that we very rarely get to see. Her vocals on this album are second to none, she expresses strength, compassion and confidence. Demi has opened up and been very honest with her struggles; from mental health issues, body shamers, her relationships – family to partners and the in-between. She’s the role model for anyone overcoming struggles they are facing today and she has expressed all these issues and more in Tell Me You Love Me. If you’re a #Lovatic like me, I suggest you go and witness her show stopping ‘Tell Me You Love Me Tour’ before it’s too late!!
Now, don’t get me wrong Selena is another great woman in music and has proved that with some very recognisable tunes – whether that be a cult karaoke classic or your gym hit playlist – but Revival was something else, it was a whole different level from the sweet and innocent Selena we once knew…this is growing up, this is Selena expressing who she really is now. Her single ‘Wolves’ ft. Marshmello was a hoot and I’m hoping that the rest of her album (whenever it is released) will follow in its path rather than ‘Bad Liar’.
As a fan of both of these wonderful females from overcoming certain obstacles in life and the public eye, I would have to say that Demi is my queen not just because she is vocally and lyrically talented but relatable.
