GUEST BLOG: Coast Modern List Their Favorite Spots To Snack In Los Angeles

0

Coast Modern are the electro-kings of the summer. The band have had a wild time thus far with the release of their debut album, Coast Modern. You can stream the record here. An eclectic mix of soul and vibrancy, the record is not to be skipped. This week, the duo have listed their favorite spots to grab a bite in the city they thrive in, Los Angeles.

1. Best Fish Taco in Ensenada (Los Feliz)
They have like three things on the menu (great for indecisive folks) and they’re all great and a few bucks. Sometimes you just need a good fish taco and this is the spot.

2. India Sweets and Spices (Atwater)
No-nonsense Indian cafeteria-style place that we frequented while writing and recording the album. Not the most amazing Indian, but super solid and you can’t beat the endless loop of insane Bollywood and Indian music videos they play. An unconscious influence on the album? Maybe.

3. Pho Cafe (Silver Lake)
A minimal, delicious spot for pho and bun. There’re always the same 5 dudes working and they will get you in and out, happy and fed in no time. Work lunch approved.

4. Town Pizza (Highland Park)
Finally good pizza in LA! When you need a slice, Town is so nice.

5. Myung In Dumplings (K-Town)
Anthony Bourdain approved, super cheap, fluffy and delicious Korean dumplings. It’s like eating a Nerf ball but way tastier. C’mon we’ve all wanted to do that…

6. Kien Giang Bakery (Echo Park)
This is a secret spot because they’re primarily a bakery but on the DL they have $5 bahn mi and that comes with a drink AND a slice of cake. Nutty.

7. La Azteca Tortilleria (East LA)
The best burrito in LA comes out of this tortilla factory on Cesar Chavez. The chile relleno burrito is where it’s at. Seriously.

8. Poquito Mas (Multiple – The Valley)
A very different kind of Mexican place that serves fresh baja/gringo/movie-studio-lunch-friendly fare. Another frequent spot we hit while writing. Try the plates!

9. Flore Vegan Cuisine (Silver Lake)
Super solid vegan place located in hipster central without the hipster vibe. Vegan/organic isn’t the cheapest food but your body thanks you, so worth it, right?

10. Lassens Grocery (Multiple)
Ok, definitely not cheap on the whole but you can get a juice made in front of your face for like $5 and pick up some food bar snacks and be on your way. Plus great crunchy people watching.
