Best Ex (formerly Candy Hearts) have a new single, “Someday,” which premiered on Upset Magazine Thursday. According to lead vocalist Mariel Loveland, whose reminiscence on the rocky trajectory of a friend’s band inspired the track, it’s “a sort of anthem to the most insecure parts of myself–the parts that felt like the best I could do was never really good enough.”
A new EP, Ice Cream Anti Social, will arrive July 14 via Alcopop! Records–pre-orders for which have just launched in conjunction with the trio’s latest song. It will be the first release under the new moniker, not to mention a new, pop-leaning sound. Stream “Someday” via the Upset link above, and let us know what you think.
Catch Best Ex on tour across the U.S. from June 25-July 21.
