Hail the Sun has announced they will embark on an extensive U.S. tour this summer with support from Capsize, Eidola, and LIMBS. Today, the band shared a new longform music video for “Doing the Same Thing and Expecting Different Results,” off their latest album, Culture Scars. Filmed and directed by Michael-Rex Carbonell, who also designed the Culture Scars album art, Hail the Sun maintained the aesthetic vision of their third full-length–watch it below!
The video itself is an embellishment of how I see my late teens and early- to mid-20s. I think I was very hard to trust, for several reasons. Having multiple characters in the video isn’t necessarily a literal adaptation, but rather symbolic for the many instances I would be less than upfront with loved ones. That’s one way to put it, at least. At the end of the song, I am referring to specific people, and we wanted to symbolize the wall that was put up between myself and their emotions. But, sometimes it would end up coming down in anger, and the cycle would repeat. – vocalist/drummer Donovan Melero
Hail the Sun’s headliner kicks off May 23 in Fresno, California. Tickets and VIP packages are now available.
