Civil Youth have shared the lyric video for their latest single, the fiery track “Belief” off their forthcoming third album, Conversations. In the video vocalist Michael Kepko, who has used his anxiety and depression as inspiration for Civil Youth’s powerful lyrics, spews his soul against a backdrop of the band’s hometown of Philadelphia, animated with drawings by the band members themselves.
This video is very special to us not only because we shot it in our hometown of Philadelphia, but also, every word you read is my actual hand writing with our own drawings to go along with the words. It’s the first thing from the new album we get to show you, and it’s an anthem to get you to stand for what you believe in. Remember why you started what you’re doing and don’t stop until you define your own success. This is only the beginning, ¥outh. – Civil Youth vocalist Michael Kepko
Conversations, self-produced by Civil Youth in their home studio, is set for release May 19. Tickets for the album release show May 20 at Philadelphia’s TLA are available here.
