Playing to a sold out crowd in Seattle, Friday November 4th, Mac Miller took to the stage with a lengthy set list of 20 songs. Opening up with his hit “Cinderella,” off of The Divine Feminine, it was evidently clear that Mac was coming out swinging, determined to give those in the audience a night to remember.
His set list included tracks that span over the course of his career, giving fans a taste of everything both new and old. From beginning to end, the crowd was full of energy, jam packed from the stage to the door, ready to hear some of their favorite Mac Miller songs.
Mac manages to stand out from other artists in the game because he puts on more than just a rap show, but a soul, groovy-driven performance that leaves everyone in the audience dancing along and singing the words. Especially with tracks like “Dang!” and “We,” Mac’s style and ability to fuse together rap and a little bit of soul and R&B elements on The Divine Feminine truly separates him from the game.
While Mac whizzed through the 20 song set list in what felt like the blink of an eye, fans getting pulled out for dehydration almost every song, there was not a single second the entire night that wasn’t filled with energy and didn’t have fans singing as loud as they could.
A clear highlight of the night was his performance of “Lucky Ass Bitch” that left fans singing than louder before, Mac holding the mic out for the crowd to sing throughout most of the song.
Some fans may have been disappointed that Mac chose not to play “My Favorite Part,” a track off of The Divine Feminine that features Ariana Grande who was also in attendance that night, but he gave a four song encore of “Diablo,” “Nikes On My Feet,” “Knock Knock” and “When In Rome,” not disappointing anyone with his performance and song choice that night.
As the last notes hit and Mac disappeared backstage, fans began shuffling out of the venue–most covered in sweat– buzzing about the performance that they just witnessed. While we don’t know when Mac Miller will be returning to Seattle next, it can be assumed that whenever it may be, he will have a passionate Seattle crowd waiting for him.
