Real Friends are currently finishing up their North American tour with The Wonder Years, Knuckle Puck, Moose Blood, and Seaway – but Friday, announced they would no longer be able to go through with their U.K./Europe tour scheduled for December. Frontman Dan Lambton penned a lengthy, heartfelt note to fans to explain that the cancellation was due to his struggles with mental illness: “I need to seek professional help and care for my wellbeing if I am going to continue to contribute doing what we love with integrity and dignity,” Lambton wrote. “How am I supposed to tell people to love themselves for both their strengths and their flaws when I haven’t been doing that myself?”
Lambton emphasized that the band is not fighting, nor planning a hiatus – the holiday show planned for Jan. 7 in Chicago is still happening and the U.K./Europe tour will be rescheduled, Real Friends reassured their followers via Twitter.
We are working on rescheduling the tour. Thank you for all the positive vibes you guys have been sending our way. We appreciate you
